About IIChE ARC

Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers Amaravati Regional Center (IIChE ARC) was established in the year 2015 to promote Chemical Engineering activities in the region. Among lofty aims of establishing Industry-Professional body relationship and improving competency of budding engineers, IIChE ARC also strives to promote the importance of Chemical Engineering among public. The centre was inaugurated by Sri G. V. Sethuraman the then President, IIChE and Dr. Kondabolu Basavapunnaiah the then President, NES & RVR & JC College of Engineering (A) in the presence of Sri Rayapati Gopala Krishna, Secretary & Correspondent, RVR & JC College of Engineering (A), Sri. J. Murali Mohan, Managing Director, Jocil limited, Prof. V. V. Basava Rao the then Vice President of IIChE and Sri C. P. Ramulu National Council Members of IIChE.

IIChE Amaravati Regional Centre (IIChE ARC) office is located at JKC College (A) Campus, Ring Road, Guntur. The Centre is aiming to play an important role in the growth of Chemical Industry in the region, by creating awareness about the latest technological developments in the field of Chemical Engineering. The Centre organizes seminars/conferences every year regularly on its own and also a few activities in association with student chapters under IIChE ARC. Through such programmes, the Centre is providing a forum for exchange of ideas and transfer of knowledge among students and faculty ofChemical Engineering in various Institutions and Industrial personnel of Chemical and allied process industries across the country. In addition, the centre organizes workshops, refresher courses for Chemical Engineering faculty to improve their professional capabilities, promoting research in Chemical Engineering, counseling & guiding Chemical Engineering students in career planning; initiating other activities which are of social, technical and professional relevance to their members.

The centre also promotes the activities of student chapters of Chemical Engineering and Allied programmes in this region.

With the constant encouragement from the members, during period 2015-25 IIChE Amaravati Regional Center successfully organized the following International/National Seminars/Webinars in association with all the student chapters under IIChE ARC.

1. Five day Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on "Process & Equipment Design using CHEMCAD" organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (Deemed to be University), Vadlamudi in association with Innovent Process Solutions Private. Limited, Pune and IIChE Amaravati Regional Centre, Guntur from 2^nd June to 6^th June 2025.
2. 3^rd Prof. M. Venkateswara Rao Endowment Lecture on "Semiconductor Nanostructures for Optoelectronics, Energy, Sensors and Neuroscience Applications" organized by IIChE Amaravati Regional Centre and hosted by Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Nuzvid on 18^th February, 2025 in hybrid mode.
3. One day International Seminar on "Production & Utilization of Green Hydrogen for Sustainable Development" organized by IIChE Amaravati Regional Centre in association with UG & PG Departments of JKC College (A) on 6^th February, 2025.
4. One day National Webinar on “Circular Economy Approach for Mitigation of Plastic Waste: Challenges, Opportunities, and Future Prospects” organized by IIChE Amaravati Regional Centre and hosted by NIT AP, Tadepalligudem on 7^th October, 2024.

In addition to the above, the student Chapters are regularly organizing student activities in association with IIChE ARC.

Endowment Lecture

IIChE ARC has been conducting an annual Endowment Lecture in the name of Dr. M. Venkateswara Rao from the year 2022, instituted by Dr. Rao with the support of ARC members as one of the annual events of IIChE ARC to motivate Chemical & allied Engineering student community especially in Amaravati Regional Centre and expose them to the emerging technological developments and practices of Chemical Engineering and Chemical Industry.

Awards

The centre was bestowed four times with the best regional centre awards in 2017, 2020, 2022 & 2024 and three times the second best regional centre awards in 2018, 2021 & 2023 under "B" category centres for its dynamic & proactive activities.
